No News is… Not News

Journal Entry: Wed May 14, 2008, 9:12 AM
  • Mood: Annoyed
  • Reading: Amerika by Kafka
  • Eating: Cheese and crackers, lad!
Okay, I guess reporters today must be really bored. Which is strange, because there seems to be a lot going on: disasters, new bills, an election, a war, genocides, terrorism, a new book by J.K. Rowling… But, apparently all of those issues are secondary to the very important fact that B16 (that’s the pope to all of you non-Catholics) says that it’s okay to believe in aliens. Um… so what? As far as I know, that’s never been an issue. Scientists believe that the universe is so big that it’s very probable for life to exist on other planets. So… so what? What’s the big deal about this? Has this really been an issue of theological debate? And why is this news? How does this affect the world? Either aliens exist or they don’t, but I don’t see what that has to do with anything unless they start landing here and stealing all of the tamales (which would automatically mean war, especially if they took the Tabasco sauce, too!). Ugh! And does anyone know what’s going on with ENDA? What about Darfur? What’s with the Russian government? But, no, I guess the fact that B16 doesn’t have an issue with aliens has a much greater global impact than those menial tidbits. LOL Oh, well, at least we don’t have to hear about the cellulite on some actress’s butt anymore… Because that was just SO important. *eye roll*
